Harrison kupił gitarę w 1963 roku w sklepie muzycznym Fentona w Mount Vernon, w stanie Illinois. Pojechał tam, aby odwiedzić swoją siostrę.
Wystawiony będzie też album Beatles '65 z autografami podpisanymi przez Fab Four. Dom aukcyjny szacuje, że cena tej licytacji może sięgnąć nawet 300,000$.
The Julien's Auctions sale is held at the Hard Rock Cafe in Manhattan. The 1962 Rickenbacker 425 that George bought in 1963 at Fenton's Music store in Mount Vernon, IL, sells $657,000. He had the guitar refinished from a Fireglo red to black to match John Lennon's Rickenbacker. A pair of Zildjian Ringo Starr Artist Series drum sticks with purple coating, signed "Ringo [star]" in black felt pen on one of them sold for $1,920, a vintage 1963 Hofner bass guitar, signed "Paul McCartney" in black felt pen on the body, accompanied by a hardshell case goes for $12,160, a copy of the Beatles' Let It Be signed on the cover by Paul sold for $3,840, a Beatles signed copy of With the Beatles is sold for $31,250, a “first state” Beatles "butcher cover" goes for $31,250 and a Beatles '65 album signed by the Fab Four goes unsold. A collection of Arnold Schwartzman photographs sell from between $125 and $384.
