W Anglii ukazuje się Anthology 1 - pierwszy oficjalny bootleg The Beatles.

W samych tylko Stanach Zjednoczonych wstępne zamówienia wynoszą około 3,5 miliona egzemplarzy, co daje obrót około 60-70 milionów dolarów.

W ciągu pierwszego tygodnia sprzedaży Anthology 1 w Wielkiej Brytanii rozchodzi się w 121 tysiącach egzemplarzy, a 855 500 kopii w sieci sklepów American Best Buy.

Pete Best otrzymuje siedmiocyfrowy czek za tantiemy. Na albumie można usłyszeć 10 utworów, w których były perkusista The Beatles uczestniczył.
