Please Mr. Postman to cover zespołu The Marvelettes z wytwórni Motown skupiającej czarnych wykonawców. Kompozytorami piosenki są: Georgia Dobbins, William Garrett, Brian Holland, Robert Bateman, Freddie Gorman
Utwór był w Stanach dużym hitem w grudniu 1961 roku. Zajął pierwsze miejsce na Billboard pop. W Anglii był zupełnie nieznany, co sprawiło, że Beatlesi ochoczo włączyli go do swojego repertuaru koncertowego.
